Create your own menu

Enjoy creating the perfect menu for yourself and guests by selecting courses from over 1,000 recipes. 1000 Cooking Recipes from ELLE à table makes this incredibly simple by recommending complementary courses to those you choose. If a certain main course gets your taste buds tingling, the software can recommend a starter, dessert, cheese and wine to complement it! Just mix and match with a simple tap of the stylus until you’re happy with the combination suggested.

Food for every taste

The recipes themselves are aimed squarely at people who adore food. They can be chosen by region, difficulty level, course or even ingredients that you already have in your fridge. 1000 Cooking Recipes from ELLE à table allows you to view up to three recipes simultaneously, meaning the instructions for your full three courses can be easily accessed as you prepare your meal, avoiding any annoying stopping and starting as you cook! There’s even an in-built timer you can set to ensure everything runs perfectly to schedule.

Once you’ve built a menu you’re excited about, you can add all ingredients directly to your Shopping List, where they can be ordered by recipe or by type of ingredient. Slip your Nintendo DS in your bag or pocket and mark off the ingredients as you buy them. Food shopping has never been such a breeze! If you have a special occasion to celebrate, there’s also an in-built calendar to keep track of your plans – save a menu plan to the calendar and see an end to last-minute dashes to the corner shop for that forgotten bunch of chives.

Cheese and wine

Sometimes the hardest part of a meal is trying to select an accompanying wine or cheese that doesn’t overwhelm the delicious meal you’ve prepared or go down like a damp squib compared to your culinary efforts. 1000 Cooking Recipes from ELLE à table solves both these issues for you with exclusive recommendation tools.

Jancis Robinson, renowned British wine expert, has put together an extensive list of 133 wines to choose from. These can be arranged by price or name, but most importantly, can be matched to both cheese and recipes. You can pair a wine with a recipe you like, but if you happen to fancy a particular wine, you can even arrange your meal around your preferred vintage! There are full descriptions of all wines and you can jot down tasting notes or add the wine directly to your Shopping List from the Wine Menu.

The Cheese Menu features over 150 cheeses from all across Europe, from Milanese Bel Paese to Irish Cashel Blue, all selected for 1000 Cooking Recipes from ELLE à table by John Farrand from the Guild of Fine Food. As with the wine, you can find detailed descriptions on all cheeses and the option to directly select a complementary wine or add a cheese of your choice to the Shopping List.

1000 Cooking Recipes from ELLE à table offers many other functions guaranteed to make it the most useful item in your kitchen – and let's not forget that you can take your Nintendo DS with you anywhere you go!

You can add all ingredients for a recipe directly to your Shopping List, but you can also create a list by typing in ingredients or by choosing from a list of pre-defined ingredients and then just adding the quantity. You can remove or add items at will and cross them off as you buy them, meaning no more hunting for a pen halfway through
the supermarket run…
