MySims Party for Nintendo DS utilises the unique features of the system as you enjoy 40 fun mini-games set in the MySims universe. As a resident in a new town, it’s up to you to attract new people by performing well in the various themed mini-game festivals organised by the local mayor. The more residents you attract, the more games you’ll gain access to!
You’ll start by creating your own MySim, customising everything from the clothes they wear to their hairstyle, before assigning them with a specific set of skills that will determine how they fare in the challenges ahead. Will your MySim boast super strength, incredible endurance or slippery speed? Whatever shape your character takes, you’ll be glad to know that your home in town also acts as a base from which you can create and edit new MySims to join the fun.
Once you’ve created your character or characters, you can select a team of four MySims who you think will have the necessary talents to carry you to victory. You’ll want to keep the individual attributes of your MySims in mind and assemble a group that contains an even spread of strength, endurance, speed and luck. Once your team is ready, it’s time for the games to begin as you compete against computer controlled opponents or up to three friends wirelessly.
In MySims Party, the challenges come thick and fast. You might find yourself tapping the Touch Screen with your stylus to unearth a fossil, before blowing into the DS microphone to remove the dust. Then again, you could take part in Air-Guitar-Star - tapping the DS shoulder buttons in time to make your MySim rock out.
As you play, you’ll be able to boost your performance or land your opponents in trouble by using special cards that boost or reduce MySims’ stats. The cards can be purchased in the shops around town, with new card types being unlocked as you complete festivals. Deciding which card to use and when to use it introduces a whole new level of strategy to proceedings.
Whether you’re flipping bacon, spinning records or skateboarding through the streets, MySims party will keep you smiling as you use all the features of your DS on your way to claiming victory. And if you do hit a winning streak, you’ll be rewarded with plenty of trophies to remind your friends who the real mini-game master is!
