Street Fighter Alpha: Warrior's Dreams
The adventure that revitalised the video game market almost 20 years ago has returned -- this time souped up for Game Boy Color. Super Mario Bros. can now reach an entire generation of gamers who may have missed the portly plumber's initial rise to fame. Adding to the addictive fun of the classic Goomba-stopping, brick-bashing game, players have to complete special red coin challenges in each level. Totally new bonus options are also available, like a calendar feature and special artwork that can be turned into stickers by using the Game Boy Printer (sold separately). The new additions are superb, but the real fun comes from the classic gameplay. Guide Mario through eight worlds packed with secret mushrooms and extra lives, while avoiding Koopas and blasting Bowser with fireballs. Warp Zones, secret coin rooms, and hidden vines are tucked away behind breakable blocks, which taught gamers back in the early '80s to explore every nook and cranny of Mushroom Kingdom. As an added bonus, you can access eight Super Mario "Lost Levels" by performing exceptionally well in the original game. Super Mario Bros. is a blast from the past that stands up well to the test of time, and new bonus features -- including a two-player competition via Game Link Cable -- make this title better than ever.
