Important information

As of 27/03/2023, it will no longer be possible to make purchases in Nintendo eShop for Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

Think of yourself as the heroic, brainy type? Then ready your Nintendo 3DS to show your skills in Cubic Ninja, the latest mind-boggling, innovative puzzle game from Ubisoft and AQ Interactive.

The heroes of this game have eight corners, six equally-sized sides and are made from a variety of materials: they are the Cubic Ninja. You start in the role of CC, a stand-up fella whose ninja mates have been kidnapped, along with the princess of his beloved kingdom, and it’s up to you to save them. To get them back you’ll have to make your way through over 100 puzzle levels that are packed with traps, bad guys and danger at every turn. To beat a level, you must reach the exit door, if you can...

Your wits and reactions will be challenged along the way as you interact with a variety of different puzzle elements: red switches will move walls to help or hinder you, spikes provide a pointed threat, arcs of sizzling electricity could catch you in their enticing tendrils and fans will float your cubic chaps off their chosen path. On top of the puzzle levels, the game will regularly throw boss battles at you – so stay alert like a good trained warrior, now.

Part maze game, part puzzle challenge, Cubic Ninja can be controlled via your method of your choice. If you thirst for the 3D effect then you’ll use the Circle Pad to guide your little protagonist around the level, but if you’re happy with crisp clear graphics without the 3D effect, responsive motion controls are at your disposal. Tilt, angle, and twist to get your little dudes moving in the right direction - you can even hold your system above your head to move them closer to the screen, which might just help them to get around some obstacles.

As you progress through the game you’ll save cool new ninja that you can play with: each one is made of a different material and so exhibits different behaviour, which you can use to your advantage. The rubber one bounces all over the place, whereas the iron guy doesn’t have bounce on the menu, but can be tricky or helpful in other ways: you’ll need to master all seven to make it through in one piece.

There are also scrolls scattered around the levels for you to collect – if you get enough of these, you’ll gain access to Ninjutsu skills that will help you on your path through the puzzles. For those artistic masters who love to make and build there’s the extra option of creating your own levels and sharing them with your mates as QR Code patterns, or why not run through a level super swiftly, then challenge your mates to beat your ‘ghost’?

  • Guide your heroes through over 100 electrifying puzzle levels and encounter awesome bosses
  • Unlock new ninja, gather power-ups and master the puzzle dynamics
  • Use the Circle Pad or motion controls to take charge of the action
