Get to grips with a legendary warrior as the long-running Shinobi series makes a comeback on Nintendo 3DS.

Originally an arcade hit in the ‘80s, the Shinobi franchise is famous for its blend of side-scrolling action, intense combat and over-the-top boss battles. These elements remain firmly intact as Shinobi comes to Nintendo 3DS, only now players can enjoy deeper combat mechanics, a reworked visual style and new types of challenges – all taking advantage of the stereoscopic 3D made possible by Nintendo 3DS! 

Players assume the role of a mysterious ninja who has been betrayed by a friend and must now confront an ancient and evil clan. With enemies coming thick and fast, you’ll need to tap into all of the fighting techniques at your disposal to prevail. Determine the best way to tackle the foe in front of you and then take them out by blending ranged, melee and acrobatic attacks. With a new combo system to master and ninja magic you can trigger on the Touch Screen, there are countless ways to stamp your authority on the dark forces opposing you. The longer you go without taking a hit, the faster, stronger and more lethal you’ll become as a special meter in the top right of the screen fills up.

In the traditional side-scrolling levels you’ll have more than bad guys to contend with. Leap across rooftops, climb walls and put items like the grapple hook to use as you overcome your environment, and be prepared for special challenges that take the Shinobi experience to another dimension. In new action sequences, such as a horse riding level, you’ll find scenery speeding towards you and enemies attacking from new angles as you encounter novel new 3D experiences.

Finally, Shinobi keeps the action coming with StreetPass functionality that enables you to unlock Retro Challenge Maps and play as the first ninja to assume the Shinobi moniker; Joe Musashi.

Capturing the spirit of the arcade original and drawing from the highlights of the series to date, Shinobi for Nintendo 3DS celebrates the past whilst bringing players firmly into the future in a 3D ninja spectacular jammed with thrills and spills!
