EA Playground

System: Nintendo DS Release date: 02/11/2007

You don’t have to be a kid to play the games of youth, thanks to EA Playground. The game turns your DS into a portable park with classic ball games, like dodgeball and basketball, and non-contact games like hopscotch and bug hunt. In addition, the game sports original games like Kicks, a football spin-off.

Through all the Touch Screen and microphone-enabled mini-games, play for the crown of Playground King! To be the leader of the pack, you’ll need to be the best of the best in the different Playground events. How’s your spitball shooting ability? Find out in the spitball challenge by blowing into the DS built-in microphone. With a game of hopscotch, you’ll jump from square to square, using the Touch Screen to tap in rhythm.

With up to three friends by your side, you can participate in a Playground free-for-all. When playing against other DS owners, you’ll be able to customise the rules and win conditions of each mini-game you play.

  • In single-player mode, you can collect stickers every time you win a game against a computer opponent. Plus, you can earn marbles by playing a variety of other mini-game activities. These marbles can be traded in for valuable power-ups.
  • Although you start off in the schoolyard, the fun doesn't end there. As you successfully compete in challenges, you'll discover that there's more to the playground, including up to three unlockable locations. Each has its own unique take on your playground favourites.
  • Playground activities range from jumping on a trampoline to pop balloons, racing remote-controlled cars and collecting bugs to performing skateboard ticks and scoring the most points in a game similar to football.
