Panzer Tactics DS

System: Nintendo DS Release date: 15/02/2008

History-based strategy games pose to a player one burning question: If you were in control, what would you do differently? This question is the basis for the WWII-based Panzer Tactics DS. If you were the commander, what would you do differently? Panzer Tactics DS is a turn-based strategy game that gives players a chance to control (or revise) the fates of three powerful armies: the German Wehrmacht, the Red Army and the Western Allies. Taking the role as supreme commander of one of these groups - each with its own campaign – lets players experience the demanding strategic aspects of combat on land, on water and in the air. The top screen lays out all the troop information: supplies, troops, moves, artillery, battalion weaknesses and more. The Touch Screen shows a map on a hexagonal grid. Inside the spaces, players can see the terrain and which troop – if any – is occupying that space. Players then use the stylus to move and command their army. War needs at least two factions. Panzer Tactics DS offers intelligent CPU adversaries, but also uses the wireless features of the DS to find you an enemy – any time, any place. The game features both local wireless and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection multiplayer matches, allowing players to go to war in person or via the Internet. In either wireless mode, up to four players can strategise on one of 10 multiplayer maps. If you only have one DS system at hand, try the Hotseat mode to battle other friends.•Battle in 30 nerve-racking, historical missions, including secret operations behind enemy lines. Complete optional bonus mission objectives to unlock extra missions and tactical optimisations.•More than 150 different waterborne, land and airborne units and 20 different special attack techniques. See a variety of different battle animations for all units, plus a wide range of special explosion and weather effects.•Online rankings let players compare themselves to the best amateur generals in the world.•Playable using the stylus or buttons, or a combination of both.
