It’s a phenomenon that took the world by storm, spawned its own dance, meant that the Japanese government had to mint new yen to deal with a coin shortage and it's back on the Nintendo DS. That’s right, the aliens return in Space Invaders Extreme 2 – and we’re not going to take it lying down! (Though we are going to take it on, moving side to side with all guns blazing.)

The original Space Invaders game was dazzling in its addictive simplicity, hooking every kind of person the world over with its fast-paced shoot 'em up action. Easy as pie to pick up: just move your little ship left and right across the bottom of the screen, firing up at waves of aliens advancing down-screen from the top. Ensure you get rid of them all to save the day! This classic formula came blasting back into the limelight in Space Invaders Extreme, which gave a modern coat of pixels to the grandaddy of the space shooter, and shines its way onto the DS for the second time in this remixed and rejuvenated sequel. Faster and even more challenging than the previous incarnation, Space Invaders Extreme 2 will have you on the edge of your seat, fighting waves of oscillating enemies and zapping like crazy just to keep up!

Benefiting once again from up to the minute visuals and an awesome electronica soundtrack, this instalment of the Space Invaders legacy has even more goodies than the last! It's an alien feast to be devoured with an added 'Beginner' difficulty in Score Attack mode, an entirely new Time Attack mode, power ups that are simpler to activate and more impressive once unleashed, new backgrounds, rock hard Space Invader formations and a novel Bingo system!

• In addition to playing solo, there's also the option to rumble with a friend via Single Card play, Multi-Card play or online via a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection! Get patriotic for your planet and annihilate those aliens before they get down to Earth, beating your mate while you're at it.
• Use a variety of weapons and all-new power ups, chain attacks together for points and master the Bingo system: a full house of your fallen foes earns massive bonuses!
• Now showing on both screens: special rounds play on the top screen while normal play continues simultaneously on the Touch Screen. Do try to keep up!
