Sonic Rush Adventure puts you in control of the fastest thing on two legs as he sprints his way through seven action-packed islands collecting precious rings and battling a band of unruly pirates. Mixing 2D and 3D elements and featuring levels that sprawl across both screens of your Nintendo DS, Sonic Rush Adventure takes the ingredients that made the original Sonic games such a hit and blends them with features only possible on DS. The game begins with Sonic setting out from Windmill Village on a quest to find and defeat the evil pirate Captain Whisker. You must lead him to seven different islands, where most of the action will play out in super-speedy side-scrolling 2D. Along the way you can prove yourself a true action hero by taking part in some gravity-defying antics like snowboarding and hang gliding! You’ll also battle some incredible bosses who take up both screens of your DS and attack in glorious 3D! Traveling between islands introduces a new element of adventure to the gameplay as you jump aboard one of five different ships and set sail for a new destination. You must guide Sonic through the 3D sailing sections using the DS Stylus, avoiding water mines and taking aim at pirates with your cannons as you go. As you progress, you’ll find new parts for your ships that will help your trusty friend Tails to build you bigger and better vessels. Eventually, you’ll be able to take to the water in everything from souped-up submarines to hovercrafts! Multiplayer mode allows you to pit your wits against a friend in lightening fast races or to challenge them in battles that require you to collect items spread across an entire map area. In single player mode, you’ll learn how to control Sonic through a helpful tutorial that teaches you all you need to know about life in the fast lane.
