Calling

System: Wii Release date: 19/03/2010

All the eerie darkness, unease and tension of the best in Japanese horror comes to Wii in a title that will live on in your mind long after you've put down the Wii Remote. Calling may not be for the faint of heart, but if you're prepared for chills and thrills, a gripping adventure is waiting to reach right out of the screen and grab you.

A disturbing urban legend is spreading. According to the rumours, a mysterious plain black website - known simply as the Black Page - is linked to a series of seemingly healthy people falling into comas and subsequently dying. They say the counter at the bottom of the website shows the number of visitors to the site who have fallen victim to this malevolent force that gives a whole new meaning to the term computer virus.

If you're seeking reassurance that this is all just a tall tale, you're in for a shock. In Calling, the threat is very real. You'll be taking control of four characters that have fallen victim to the Black Page. An anime-obsessed high school pupil, an earnest university student, a newspaper editor and an elderly woman, their souls now reside in a terrifying limbo suspended between life and death - the Mnemonic Abyss. Formed from the fragments of people's memories, this terrifying zone features creepy locations ranging from classrooms to hospital operating rooms, all brought alive with stunning graphics that capture all the sinister half-seen images and macabre atmosphere of modern Japanese horror films.

Your Wii Remote proves a versatile companion, acting as all manner of tools including a torch and mobile phone as you seek to uncover the truth behind the website and the reason why it is sucking human souls into this horrific realm. You'll be taking control of all four characters as you uncover clues and solve puzzles to move the story towards its blood-chilling conclusion. The terror is more subtle than any hack-and-slash gorefest - chainsaws are in short supply, but there is no shortage of shocks awaiting the intrepid player.

So take a deep breath and delve into the horror of the Mnemonic Abyss in a fight for survival that will mean you never look at the Internet in the same way again. Terror is calling. Are you ready to answer?

  • Gripping storyline unfolds as you unlock different characters and experience alternate endings.
  • Strikingly atmospheric graphics bring alive the eerie locations, ranging from homes to schools to abandoned hospitals.
  • Four unique playable characters each give a new perspective to the action.
