DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO for Wii signals the return of the hit series, with more thrills and spills under the hood than ever before. Set before the events of Driver 1, you will take to the streets of the city by the bay and assume the role of rookie detective, John Tanner, as he attempts to bring down a crime syndicate controlling San Francisco’s underworld. Featuring awe-inspiring muscle cars, plenty of multiplayer modes and an intriguing storyline that will put you in control of characters on both sides of the law, DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO takes you from nought to exhilarating in an instant!
After taking your place in the driving seat, prepare for a movie-style car chase experience where you’ll make the most of loose suspension to perform long drifts, hug sharp bends and weave through heavy traffic. Depending on whether you’re driving as main man John Tanner, his fellow detective Tobias Jones or criminal Solomon Caine, you’ll tackle different styles of missions that let you experience all sides of an explosive crime triangle. Integrated motion controls make for an intuitive experience throughout as you combine movements of the Wii Remote with traditional controls to take aim and fire at other vehicles, trigger nitro boosts or shunt targets off the road.
DRIVER SAN FRANCISCO boasts 30 story missions, 10 larger and explosive “critical” missions and 30 optional side missions. As you complete them you’ll earn experience points that allow you to upgrade your abilities, and you’ll also collect 58 unique awards linked to in-game achievements. There are also infinite random car chases waiting for you as a felony system recognises your driving misdemeanors and makes you a target for the authorities.
Taking the DRIVER series in an exciting new direction is a stack of multiplayer options that can accommodate up to four players. In the main story mode, up to three people can share every second with drop-in/out cooperative play that makes one player driver, another shooter and a third, via Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS, an invaluable source of intelligence. Operating via DS Download Play, the option of adding your handheld to the mix enables you to support the driver by predicting the path of targets, keeping tabs on chasing cars or even adding obstacles and explosives to the road. A dedicated co-op mode allows you and a friend to work together to complete a number of challenging objectives. More multiplayer modes allow for four player split-screen races and addictive challenges, where all your driving skills will be tested to the limit.
