FIFA 11

System: Wii Release date: 01/10/2010

Step into a new season as the hit FIFA soccer series returns for an 11th campaign, offering Wii players a footy experience crammed with challenges, competitions and goals galore.

From showing off your skills on the streets to lighting up the biggest stadiums in soccer, FIFA 11 for Wii invites you to play the beautiful game your way as you tackle the arcade-style action of 5 versus 5 street football or compete in traditional 11 versus 11 match-ups.

As you’d expect from a FIFA game, 11 vs. 11 fixtures play out between over 500 licensed teams from more than 30 worldwide leagues. With in excess of 15,000 star players to take control of, you’ll never struggle to find a team that matches your preferred style of play. When the action gets underway, you’ll have the freedom to control the flow of the game using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or Classic Controller – deciding whether to make the magic happen with motion controls or via more conventional methods. Grabbing goals is now more intuitive than ever thanks to an overhauled shooting system and a variety of shot types that offer multiple ways to embarrass the opposition keeper.

Away from the glitz and glamour of big stadium soccer, FIFA 11 also affords you the freedom to hit the streets and compete for glory in all-action games that play out from the alleyways of Brazil to the lanes of London.

In street soccer, the best players in the world will still show up, but the game takes on a whole new feel. Enclosed or indoor arenas allow you to make use of the walls, playing passes off them at surprising angles or even running up them to get round an incoming defender. New moves also enter the fray, changing the game as you send shock waves over opponents, ignite a speed burst or rip shots on goal with unparalleled power.

With all manner of customisable game options for indoor and street soccer, no two games need be the same. Along with up to three other players you’re free to decide whether you want to play against the clock, make the first goal the winner or reposition the goals to make scoring a tougher prospect.

Marrying 5 vs. 5 and 11 vs. 11 matches is the new Streets to Stadiums mode, which challenges you to take a created player from backstreet trickster to soccer star over the course of a five-season career. Will the moves you master in the rough and ready world of street soccer serve you well when you have an audience of thousands on the hallowed turf of the world’s greatest arenas?

On top of FIFA 11’s new additions, the game sees the return of the managerial Battle for Glory Mode and an online mode that enables you to join forces with a friend when you compete against other players via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

However you like to play the beautiful game, FIFA 11 for Wii is a perfect match for football fanatics.

  • Play football on the streets or in stadiums as you take charge of the world’s biggest stars in 5 vs. 5 or 11 vs. 11 match-ups.
