Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

System: Wii Release date: 16/10/2009

Mario and Sonic have already gone head to head on the track, but now they’re getting ready to hit the slopes as their rivalry turns even frostier in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for Wii.

Transporting players to Vancouver, Canada – host city of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games – the game invites players of all abilities and ages to get together and go for gold in disciplines including Alpine Skiing and Speed Skating. Simple and intuitive controls that take advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk’s motion sensing abilities ensure you feel like you’re right at the heart of the action every time the competition gets underway!

Whichever of the many challenges you’re taking part in, you’ll want to find the perfect athlete for the job. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games offers a legendary cast of playable characters, adding new faces to the series whilst still offering the option of choosing from some of the biggest videogame stars ever to grace the small screen. Each and every one comes with their own unique attributes, so choose carefully if you don’t want to become an also-ran!

Intensifying the competition even more this time around, certain challenges are now compatible with the Wii Balance Board – calling for you to master new skills and techniques in order to claim top spot on the winners’ podium. You’ll also be able to enjoy competing alongside friends and family in co-op mode, as well as against them.
