Although some games feel like they were crafted in a paint-by-numbers style, Ōkami paints in a style all its own – and uses the Wii Remote as its brush.
In Ōkami, Amaterasu, the wolf-embodied sun god, must breathe colour and life into a world made dismal by the tyrannical and destructive monster Orochi. Amaterasu travels through various regions of the world to regain “Celestial Brush” powers, all the while revitalising all life.
Using the Wii Remote, players can directly control the in-game Celestial Brush and literally draw on the game world, thereby altering its physical properties. Whether it’s creating pathways, chopping down trees or turning night into day, Ōkami changes the world into a virtual canvas.
Featuring a visually stunning art style, Ōkami comes alive through beautiful scenic 3D levels that have the appearance and texture of paper scrolls brushed with watercolour-like calligraphy. Throughout these vibrant and distinct surroundings, you’ll interact with a dynamic cast of characters and build their faith to uncover clues and hints.
Can you restore beauty and order to a bleak world overrun by evil? With the Wii Remote, the world is yours for the painting.
- Defeat monsters with motion-controlled physical attacks or use of the Wii Remote as the Celestial Brush to paint the desired powers for defeating enemies and solving puzzles.
- Fight against a diverse line-up of demons and monsters rooted in Japanese folklore.
- Ōkami features widescreen (16:9) and 480p progressive scan support, making your canvas bigger and sharper.
