Returning for the 2012 season is the option of selecting from two different control methods before the action gets underway. Players can opt to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk and experience the creative freedom that comes with pointing at players to execute passes and initiate defence-splitting runs with one hand whilst controlling the man on the ball with the other. Alternatively, the Classic Controller offers a more conventional way to dictate the play for footy fans who like to stick with tradition.
And if there are any arguments about which control method makes for the more effective execution, PES 2012 also allows you to settle the score by taking on opponents using different controller set-ups both online and offline.
Online play returns over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to open the door for international grudge matches, and with the possibility to play Vs. or co-op with 2-4 players, the competition should be hotter than ever.
Attacking play is a cornerstone of PES 2012, and the new game benefits from a more open approach that allows users to dictate the pace of movement, with all-new AI elements incorporated so team mates make runs and offer support in one-on-one situations. Zonal marking and positional defending are also enhanced, ensuring players are forced to work harder to split the opposition defence. As a result, the game represents the key attributes of the world’s greatest players and captures the essence of top-flight football.
