If you're the sedentary type for whom the mere idea of hitting the gym makes you want to keel over, why not try a different tactic: how about a nice stroll?
Come rain or shine outside it's always a lovely day for a walk on Rhythm Island, Konami and Hudson's vibrant setting for Step to the Beat on Wii: where arriving isn't important, it's the journey that counts. Getting your body moving and stepping in time to the music is the entire aim of the game and with a soundtrack of 120 well known tunes the rhythm is gonna get you sooner or later. You can walk the walk with whatever control method you fancy; using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, just the Wii Balance Board or with a Dance Dance Revolution controller mat (all sold separately). Starting off is easy peasy - just design an avatar for yourself and you're ready to get up off the sofa and down to the music.
While you walk your avatar will tour around Rhythm Island; a picturesque place full of tree-lined trails to promenade along, beaches to strut purposefully across and paths to power-walk down. You'll be so busy stepping in time and exploring the scenery that you'll barely notice the miles flying by. Thankfully, every step you take and every move you make as you wander around the lovely island surroundings is recorded and displayed on screen, so you can see exactly how far you've come. Playing not only provides a workout, it also makes the island a nicer place to hang out because as you walk you'll earn musical notes that you can cash in to construct new buildings, unlock special areas of the island or buy new songs.
Step to the Beat contains over 100 infectiously rhythmic tracks including pumping hits such as 'Boom, Boom, Pow' by The Black Eyed Peas and 'La La Land' by Demi Lovato. Each track has been specially selected for its powerful beat, perfect for keeping motivation high and keeping your feet moving for miles and miles. If you love a good walk or want a fun way to sneak exercise in when your body isn't looking, Konami and Hudson's Step to the Beat might just be what you've been waiting for - all you have to do is get moving.
- Power walk your way through fun mini-games or head towards a healthier you by taking a tour of Rhythm Island's colourful scenery.
- Get that blood pumping and break a little sweat as you step along to over 100 energising tracks.
- Two can play, so why not invite a friend for a refreshing walk around the island?
- Ultimate control is in your hands, or feet – skip to the rhythm with the Dance Dance Revolution controller mat, step to it using the Wii Balance Board or get hands on with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk (all sold separately).
