Nintendo strives to make our European Nintendo eShop on our website barrier-free accessible in accordance with accessibility requirements.

    Description of services

Nintendo eShop is Nintendo's official digital online store for digital products, which is directly accessible via the official Nintendo website: www.nintendo.com/eu. On Nintendo eShop, users can buy games, content and services that can be downloaded directly to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. Nintendo eShop is linked to the user’s Nintendo Account. Users can add products to their Wish List and be notified when prices change. They can also redeem codes for a game, additional downloadable content (DLC) or Nintendo eShop funds. In addition, users can browse content by category, such as free demos, free games and apps or best sellers. In addition to buying content that has already been released, users can pre-order products before the official release so that they are ready to play on launch day.

In order to make a purchase on Nintendo eShop, users need an internet connection and a Nintendo Account.

Order processing takes place via a secure checkout system with several payment options. Nintendo eShop funds can be topped up via credit card, PayPal or Nintendo eShop pre-paid card.

Digital products will be downloaded on the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 console selected by the user.

We grant a voluntary right to cancel for pre-orders. To exercise this voluntary right to cancel, pre-orders can be cancelled from the Pre-Orders part of the Funds and Payment Methods section of the user’s Nintendo Account settings. Users can find information on how to exercise their statutory right to cancel at the end of the Nintendo Account Agreement.

Our Customer Service team supports users with questions about products and orders and can be reached via various channels.

    Information on accessibility information

Nintendo is continuously working on accessibility in accordance with the European standard EN 301 549 v.3.2.1, which is based on the World Wide Web Consortium's international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Nintendo is carrying out automatic and manual tests using tools such as Silktide and Google Lighthouse to verify the accessibility of the services offered. The aim is to ensure that the service is perceived by at least 2 senses. Among other things, these tools show potential for optimisation of keyboard navigation, the use of screen readers and colour contrasts. The improvement options found are handed over to the relevant software development teams and prioritised and corrected by them using a ticket system.
